Welcome to Seventh Street – 08.09.15

Vinatge_7thStreet_LogoGood morning and welcome to Seventh Street! This morning during the service, we will take a moment and acknowledge our teachers, educators, and any school employees. We will also have a special prayer of commissioning as they venture into the new school year.  In the prayer we want to pray for our students as well.

We continue our new sermon series on The Beatitudes (Matthew 5:3-12). We will ponder the second beatitude, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Tonight we will observe the Lord’s Supper in the fellowship area.  This will be a very special and meaningful communion service as the Deacon’s will serve their families.  Come and join us for this special time of worship.

This past Wednesday night, we had our annual “Relay for Life” steak sandwich supper.  It was a success!  After paying for expenses, the total profit was $2,398.55. I want to thank our entire Relay for Life team for putting together such a wonderful event!

I am very excited to see all the things the Lord is doing in the Life of Seventh Street Baptist Church! We had a wonderful “meet and greet” picnic for our children’s and youth director candidate, Bro. Parker Allen. Our search committee has been extremely encouraged with the positive comments and feedback they have received throughout the church family.  I know that Parker is excited as well.  The committee will make a motion in this Wednesday night’s business session along followed by a time of discussion.  We will have a congregational vote with no discussion next Sunday morning.

Remember, the August business session is of utmost importance as the stewardship committee will present the annual budget and the nominating committee will bring their annual report.

I pray you have a Jesus filled week!

Pastor Eric
